The Mall Walk Program is offered year-round Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. You will find the Mall Walkers' desk located at the food court in the Capitola Mall. The desk is hosted by volunteers who can enroll you in the program, answer your questions, introduce you to other walkers and record the distance you have walked. There is an annual fee of just $25.00 to participate in the program. You don't need to register ahead of time, but you can online here!
Senior Stretch Class is held at the Capitola Mall at the entrance to the food court. This class consists of carefully coordinated stretches, both seated and standing. The class is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. The instructors are senior volunteers and Parks staff. This class is included in the $25.00 annual Mall Walking fee. Non-members may drop-in for $5.00 per class.
Interested in taking a class, developing your swim technique, drop-in water polo or exploring new aquatic activities? Simpkins Family Swim Center offers various programs for swimmers of all ages and abilities!
Santa Cruz County Parks offers year-round sports programs and activities for all ages that help develop physical fitness, reduce stress, and promote positive use of leisure time! These programs help develop appreciation for the environment and interpersonal skills that help make Santa Cruz County the ideal place to live, work and play.
County Park's Virtual Recreation Center has a library of pre-recorded fitness and wellness classes taught by local instructors! Classes include pilates, qigong, dance, sound healing and more!
County Parks has partnered with Community Bridges and other local agencies to provide this new and innovative program that brings enrichment activities like yoga, art, music and support groups to seniors in their homes at no cost. The Senior Center Without Limits is a free program that overcomes the digital divide to connect seniors to their community, engage in activities to improve cognitive processes and combat isolation.
The Walking Adventure Group at the City of Santa Cruz’s London Nelson Community Center is back in action! Join a group of active seniors for a weekly walking adventure!
